Mapping of ornamental historic rural gardens

The bachelor thesis deals with topic of mapping decorative historical country gardens. The work is written in form of literary research and is divided into chapters. The definition of terms related to the historical gardens, their protection, renovation and restoration, description of significant elements and woody plants, division into types and their development according to the style through the whole humankind era so far, are written in the bachelor thesis. Everything is accompanied by the historical and current photo-documentation for livier idea of the reader. The development of the gardens and parks is described further in case of the castle Dobříš and Hluboká nad Vltavou, where the history itself of both the castles is described.

Studie obnovy historické zahrady Velké Heraltice

This thesis looks into renewal of historical garden at castle in Velké Heraltice. The theoretical part deals with read up available literature sources of the problems, specification of the legal protection measures and various ways of upkeep of historical sights. Aim of this thesis is about assessment and layout of renewal of historical garden with consideration to necessity of definition of specific function in some parts of the garden. To achieve natural interconnection these segments with effort to achieve highest rate of preservation of original character of castle´s gardens a park in castle´s premises. In connection with solution to appraise and to design option for integration of the park into surrounding landscape and system of green vegetation. Closing outcome is garden architectonic study of historical garden at castle in Velké Heraltice with use of gained theoretical and practical findings of this thesis. Also create space with specific demands within scope of usage of the premises, which would adequately respect history in up to date approach.

Diplomní projekt - Studie obnovy historické zahrady Vrchotovy Janovice

This master´s thesis deals with the topic of historic garden reconstruction, model object is the castle garden in Vrchotovy Janovice. Theoretical part is focused on a brief literature overview of the issue, historic preservation and its evolution, main documents and principles. Second part is focused on the particular model object. It contains consistent wide relations, functional, operational and compostition analysis and greenery inventory. But most importantly, it deals with the historical development of the site, connected to stirred destiny of its last aristocratic owner, baroness Sidonie Nadherna. She devoted her life to this place and created an authentic unforgettable nature of the garden. Sidonie became the source of inspiration for many artists of the time. Thanks to her many personalities as Rainer Maria Rilke, Karel Kraus or Max Svabinsky are linked to Vrchotovy Janovice. The intention is to restore the garden to the 20th and 30th years, while developing the potential of the place and increasing its attractiveness for visitors in modern forms. Based on the synthesis of the data obtained from surveys, a study-level proposal is created. The proposal is proved by overall and detailed ground plans, section-cut plans, perspectives and bird views. It creates contemporary space, but respects the historical elements and is sensitively brought into the present state.

Uplatnění zahradní a krajinářské tvorby v přeměnách historických prostorů. Valdštejnská lodžie v Jičíně

The first part of the thesis explores various possible approaches to solutions for historical spaces from the perspective of garden and landscape architecture. Furthermore, these spaces are divided to several categories that allow an architect to determine the methods employed in a work with a specific space. Principles and possibilities of changes are then exemplified using reference works realized in the Czech Republic as well as in other countries. Second part of the thesis proposes a solution for renewal of Valdštejnská lodžie in Jičín. This is a historical object with gardens, park and a game enclosure which is a part of composed landscape from the beginning of the 17th century. The proposed solution was based on a proper field research. The solution was then based on the results of the analyses. It respects the history of the object while offering a perspective of a contemporary landscape architect.

Diplomní projekt - obnova zahrad na Dómském pahorku v Litoměřicích

The significance of an ecclesiastical complex is determined by its significant position within a city, but also its link to the past, which is noticeable upon entering the premises. The thesis contains a project of a conceptual layout of the reconstruction of the individual premises of the ecclesiastical complex Dómský pahorek in Litomerice. The conceptual study comes up with solutions to existing problems that occur in the area and try to eliminate them. It also creates a space that should meet the conditions of all the users and which is sufficiently representative for the historical character and uniqueness of such a place. The project respects the historical elements and tracks throughout the complex and work with them so that they are not violated, but rather the other way around, to support them even more. In the project, Dómský pahorek is more integrated and connected to the city´s historic centre and will become its integral part. At the same time, it will become another green space within the historic city centre. Theoretical part is focused generally on a brief literature overview of the issue, which is closely related to the given topic of reconstructions of gardens that form part of most historic ecclesiastical sites. The analytical part deals with its own field surveys, whose results are then interpreted and the conclusions are drawn, upon which the concept of reconstruction of the area in the project part is built. The suitability and functionality of the conceptual study is demonstrated in perspective views, which are part of the maste´s thesis. These views clearly show the proposed state of the discussed complex.

Development of historical parks and gardens in the Czech Republic

The thesis deals with the development of historic gardens and parks in the Czech Republic. It deals with the basic terms related to historic gardens and parks, their legislation, protection, maintenance and division of historic gardens according to types. The largest part of the thesis deals with the development of the garden art according to style since the ancient Egypt era to contemporary modern gardens. It classifies the selection of historic Czech gardens and parks according to particular styles from 12th to 19th century. There is a list of gardens with their composition, significant elements and tree species. There is photo documentation of particular gardens.

Obnova památky krajinářské architektury

The master thesis focuses on the theme of restoration of historic gardens. It defines basic terms related to the issue of restoration of landscape architecture. The work specifies the functions of greenery in urban places and focuses on the changing function of historical areas in the present. As part of the work there was done a survey of the area of Hradisko Monastery in Olomouc and there were identified conflicts and problems. These problems are solved in the concept study of the surroundings of the monastery. In includes a proposal of traffic, program and composition of the area. The work then focuses on a proposal of restoration of the abbey garden. It divides the garden into two parts. One part is opened for public for leisure time; the other is designed as a therapeutic garden for hospital patients.
